Del Mar is an affluent coastal community in San Diego County renowned for its beautiful beaches, world-class horse racing, a vibrant village atmosphere and stunning real estate. WHAT TO DO
During the summertime, grab your beach chairs and catch any of a series of live concerts on the green at Powerhouse Park! Or, if you prefer something more vigorous, head over to nearby Torrey Pines State Park where you can choose from various hiking trails along the cliffs of the coast!
The Del Mar Foundation puts on the Summer Solstice every year where you can enjoy taste testing from local restaurants and wineries and enjoy live music. For dog lovers, head over to Dog beach where you can watch or enter your dog in the Del Mar Dog Surfing Contest.
Del Mar residents have no shortage of choices when it comes to shopping outside of the small boutiques! There are large open air malls including The Del Mar Plaza, Del Mar Shopping Center and Flower Hill Promenade.
The San Diego County Fair is presented at the Del Mar FairGrounds every year for all of June and the first week of July!
What Del Mar is most famous for is Del Mar Thoroughbred horse racing track which hosts major racing events with stadium seating and trackside dining!
Finish the day off with a drink at Monarch Del Mar - voted to have one of the best views in San Diego!
